Finally!
Finally a video that depicts men dancing properly to the rythm of darbuka. Properly: with dance movements that are familiar to me, after my 18 years spent in Morocco and attending many Moroccan weddings.
I could not help smiling while watching this video. My Moroccan roots shivered of excitement and I actually laughed out loud with their hip moves! Really good. Plus the choreographer selected dancers from all over the world, which makes this piece of work unique to me.
Men of the world: unite! And dance together.
Choreographed by the talented Moroccan-Belgian Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, who appears dancing in the back (the blond guy), here is the extract of the dance film Tempus Fugit, performed by Ballets C de la B.
Note: By the way, the woman slaps the main dancer because in the previous scene she tried to dance tango with him (yes, tango, my other passion, what a coincidence, isnt’ it?) and he made her fall down.
